Am I a minimalist? Most people would not say I am a minimalist, but I have embraced a minimalist mindset which has transformed my life. It's like having a secret weapon to create a simplified and stress-free life. Although my home is not always picture-perfect due to my three-year-old who creates chaos, I can easily tidy it up with minimal effort.

For me, the key to a minimalist mindset is reducing the inventory in my home and being mindful of what comes in. With less stuff to take care of, I have been able to create designated homes for everything. My home might not be a museum of perfection, but it's a place of peace and joy.

I have adopted an approach where everything in my space has a purpose - it either works for me or brings me genuine joy. I have eliminated clutter and unnecessary stuff, which has been liberating. My most cherished items are no longer confined to the attic, they are front and center, being appreciated every day.

When it comes to wardrobes, I have Marie Kondo-ed the heck out of our clothes. Having fewer clothes means less laundry, and that's a win in my book. I no longer have a sink piled with dirty dishes, and things rarely get lost, except my cell phone, which I tend to misplace in the weirdest spots.

The minimalist mindset is all about intentional living. It's about surrounding yourself with what truly matters, cutting out the noise, and finding joy in the little things. It's not about deprivation, but abundance in simplicity. It's a mindset that brings peace and calm to the chaos of daily life. Minimalism goes beyond just decluttering physical spaces; it's a philosophy that encourages you to focus on what truly adds value and brings joy. Here are some key aspects of a minimalist mindset:

- Purposeful Possessions: Minimalism involves owning only items that serve a purpose or bring genuine joy. It's about quality over quantity, ensuring that everything you own adds value to your life.

- Decluttering: Letting go of excess stuff, whether it's clothes, furniture, or other possessions. By decluttering, you create a more organized and peaceful living environment.

- Mindful Consumption: Minimalists are intentional about what they bring into their lives. Whether it's shopping for new items or taking on new commitments, a minimalist mindset involves thoughtful consideration to avoid unnecessary accumulation.

While I wouldn't consider myself a true minimalist, I do enjoy having a well-decorated home. However, I keep these three principles in mind to be more intentional with my life. Implementing these changes has significantly improved my life. I no longer feel overwhelmed by stressful items cluttering my home and I've experienced a greater sense of contentment with fewer distractions.
